The National Defense Industry Association Georgia Chapter Visit to Moody Air Force Base

Valdosta, Georgia – The Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial Authority (VLCIA) will host the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) Georgia Chapter visit to Moody Air Force Base on Tuesday, May 15th. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company is the principle corporate sponsor for the visit.
The NDIA participants will receive an overview of the 23rd Wing and tenant unit missions and operations. Highlights of the visit include an A-10 Wart Hog “Live Fire” Demonstration, HH-60 Pave Hawk and C-130 Hercules Pararescue mission equipment and capabilities demonstration.
The National Defense Industry Association (NDIA) is a non-profit association composed of individuals and businesses who have the common purpose of working together to promote a strong national defense. NDIA’s primary area of interest is the business and technical aspects of the government-industry relationship, encompassing government policies and practices in all phases of the acquisition process, including research and development, procurement, production, and logistics support.
Allan Ricketts, VLCIA Project/Existing Industry Manager serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chapter of NDIA. “The opportunity to have representatives from eight of the top 10 defense contractors in the nation that have operations in Georgia visit Moody Air Force Base is a rare occasion, and we are excited to host an organization like NDIA to visit Valdosta-Lowndes County, Georgia. We look forward to opportunities to partner and expand defense contractors presence in South Georgia” states Ricketts.
