REVIT Training offered at Wiregrass Georgia Tech

Valdosta, GA—   Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will begin offering an evening training program on REVIT® software for architects and engineers on January 14. The course will teach students how to use the REVIT Software that is becoming the norm in architectural design.

Participants will learn how to utilize REVIT for architectural design with the software’s specialized features for conceptual design, analysis, rendering, and coordinated documentation.  REVIT’s integrated features support mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems modeling, more accurate construction documentation, and easier export of design models for cross-discipline collaboration.

Autodesk® REVIT® software works the way architects and designers think, so you can develop higher-quality, more accurate architectural designs. Using tools specifically built to support Building Information Modeling workflows, you can capture and analyze concepts and maintain your vision through design, documentation, and construction.

REVIT creates models of exterior and interior architectural spaces. Revit generates two-dimensional plans directly from the model. The draftsman only has to add dimensions. REVIT is a Building Information Modeler—the architect’s plans work seamlessly with the structural plans done in an entirely different location.

The government services administration has mandated that new work will be done in a building information modeler (like REVIT.) REVIT models can be rendered photo-realistically, so the client can see his building before it’s constructed. REVIT allows sections in two dimensions and in three dimensions, so dimensional errors are easy to locate and repair. The newest version of REVIT lets the architect design architectural, structural steel, plumbing and electrical elements in one file.

Class dates are January 14, January 28, February 4, February 11, February 18 and February 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the Valdosta Campus.  The course is $329 per participant and includes the textbook.  Participants will also be eligible for the Student Software Rate through AutoDesk/REVIT.  For more information or to register, call 229-468-2240 or email Lidell.greenway@wiregrass.edu .
