Sealed Bids: Sealed bids for the construction of the project titled: GA Beer Company, South Briggs St., Valdosta, GA for Valdosta Lowndes County Development Authority will be received until Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the conference room of Valdosta Lowndes County Development Authority, 103 Roosevelt Dr., Valdosta, GA 31602, at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days.
Contractor License: Any Contractor submitting a bid must be properly licensed by the State of Georgia. License numbers must be written on the face of the bid envelope. No bid will be opened unless it contains the contractor’s license number. See information for Bidders for additional bidding requirements.
Work to Be Done: The work to be done shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project titled GA Beer Company, South Briggs St., Valdosta, GA for Valdosta Lowndes County Development Authority as shown on the construction drawings. In general, construction consists of a renovation to the old Valdosta Waterworks building to become the Headquarters for Georgia Beer. The project consists of 6,967 SF of Main Building. The Tap Room, Restroom and office space (acclimated spaces) consists of 1,483 SF. The Out Building (indicated as storage) at 1,395 SF. There will be demolition and removal of existing floor slabs, roofing systems as a minimum. Existing Windows will be cleaned, repaired, re-glazed and re-painted. Several areas there will be new aluminum storefront windows to match existing as close as indicated. The new renovated facility will have new TPO roof over rigid insulation existing steel structure, and brick veneer walls. There will be new concrete floors, wood framing for interior spaces. Painting of both walls and some floor treatments. The project includes sidewalks, parking striping, paving and landscaping. This work will be awarded in one (1) contract with a contract time of 240 consecutive calendar days. All work on this project shall be completed in accordance to the project specifications.
Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 28th, 2017 in the conference room of the Valdosta Lowndes County Development Authority (VLDA), 103 Roosevelt Dr. Valdosta, GA 31602. Bidders are required to send an officer of the Company or a Representative who will be preparing the bid packet to the Mandatory pre-bid meeting. Bids will not be accepted from those who did not attend this meeting. However, if an officer or a representative is not able to make it to the mandatory pre-bid meeting due to a conflict with the Holidays, they may, prior to the pre-bid meeting and with valid conflict identified, request in writing or via email, copies of the pre-bid documents in lieu of attending the pre-bid meeting.

Bonds: All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. The successful bidder, if awarded the Contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. All bonds must appear on the Treasury Department’s most current Circular 570 Listing. Certified checks will be accepted; however, bank letters of credit and bank checks will not be accepted.
